Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2022 Audi RS 5?
The NHTSA has issued 7 recalls affecting the 2022 Audi RS 5, spanning rear axle components, rear wiring harness protection, passenger air bag occupant detection, and battery terminal covers. Key components referenced in NHTSA reports include the rear axle lock nut (stress corrosion), rear light wiring harness scuff protection, PODS passenger occupant detection wiring oxidation, and incorrect battery terminal covers. All listed recall repairs are free and must be completed at a certified franchise dealer like Audi North Atlanta; schedule service to confirm your VIN status and arrange repairs.
How do I check if my 2022 Audi RS 5 has an open recall?
You can check open recalls by entering your VIN at the NHTSA website or bring your vehicle to Audi North Atlanta for a complimentary VIN check. If you prefer dealer assistance, call or visit our service center and we will validate recalls for you and advise next steps. If an open recall is found we will notify you of the needed work and help you schedule service at no cost to you.
How much does a 2022 Audi RS 5 recall repair cost?
Recall repairs are free under the manufacturer's program — Audi covers parts and labor for NHTSA-identified recalls for the 2022 Audi RS 5. There is no charge to the owner when the condition is confirmed as a manufacturer recall; Audi North Atlanta performs these repairs with OEM parts at no cost. If you need other non-recall maintenance we offer flexible service financing and specials — see our service specials and finance application options.
Can I get my 2022 Audi RS 5 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
The safest and recommended option is to have recall repairs completed at a certified Audi franchise dealer like Audi North Atlanta because dealer service ensures OEM parts, factory diagnostic tools, and warranty-compliant procedures. Independent shops cannot always access factory-specific software updates or guaranteed OEM parts required for certain recall fixes; manufacturer recall campaigns are handled free at franchise dealers to ensure proper remediation. If you’re unsure, bring your vehicle to our service center and we will check the VIN and advise — you can schedule appointment online for a free recall check.
How long does a 2022 Audi RS 5 recall repair take?
Repair times vary by recall; many actions (such as applying scuff protection or replacing a terminal cover) can take under a half day, while axle work may require additional inspection and parts and could take longer. At Audi North Atlanta our factory-trained technicians provide accurate time estimates after inspecting your vehicle; we prioritize quick turnaround and clear communication. To reduce wait time, please schedule service in advance — we also offer service financing if you need alternative payment options for unrelated work.
Does an open recall affect my 2022 Audi RS 5's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can reduce buyer confidence and may negatively affect trade-in or resale value; many dealers and private buyers check NHTSA recall status prior to purchase. Resolving recalls at an authorized dealer like Audi North Atlanta protects value and provides documented factory repairs that reassure future buyers or appraisers. When you’re ready, get a quick appraisal via our trade-in page to see how completing recall repairs improves your offer: value my trade.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2022 Audi RS 5 recall?
Open recalls may impact safety-related systems and could contribute to a failed inspection if the defect affects mandated safety equipment; it depends on the component and state rules. Examples from NHTSA include passenger air bag disabling and rear wiring issues that could impair hazard lights or door operation — issues that are clearly safety-critical for inspections. Bring your vehicle to Audi North Atlanta for a free VIN check and timely repair to avoid inspection problems and to ensure compliance with state safety requirements.
