Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2021 Audi RS 6?
The NHTSA has issued 3 recalls affecting the 2021 Audi RS 6: rear suspension axle assembly, passenger air bag score line, and front-door crash sensor connectors. Rear suspension axle assembly (recall 42L1): the lock nut on the trailing arm may break from stress corrosion and can misalign the rear axle, increasing crash risk. Air bag (recall 70i2): the passenger air bag score line may be improperly manufactured and could reduce proper deployment or eject debris during a crash. Crash sensor (recall 69BM): a door crash sensor electrical connector can detach, delaying side‑impact restraint activation and increasing injury risk. All recall repairs are done free under the manufacturer program; you can schedule service at Audi North Atlanta to confirm and resolve any open campaigns.
How do I check if my 2021 Audi RS 6 has an open recall?
Check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to a dealer and we will verify for free. You can also call Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 or contact Audi North Atlanta and we will look up your VIN and advise on next steps. If you prefer direct assistance, schedule service and our factory-trained technicians will inspect your vehicle at no charge. We offer service financing so you can get service now and pay later if any related work is needed beyond the recall repair.
How much does a 2021 Audi RS 6 recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for the 2021 Audi RS 6 are performed free of charge to the owner. Audi North Atlanta will complete recall corrective actions, such as replacing lock nuts, inspecting or repairing air bag score lines, or replacing door crash sensors, at no cost under the recall campaign. If additional non-recall repairs are identified, we will clearly explain any costs and available payment or service financing options.
Can I get my 2021 Audi RS 6 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts and proper repair records; for safety and warranty reasons you should use a certified dealer like Audi North Atlanta. Independent shops may not have manufacturer-specified parts, software, or documentation required to satisfy the recall and maintain proper service history. To ensure the repair is recorded with the manufacturer and performed by factory-trained technicians, schedule service with Audi North Atlanta — the work is free under the recall.
How long does a 2021 Audi RS 6 recall repair take?
Most manufacturer recall repairs take from under an hour to a few hours, but actual time varies by the recall; expect modest turnaround for replacements like lock nuts or crash sensors. Air bag inspections or repairs may take longer due to parts availability; Audi North Atlanta will provide an estimated completion time when you schedule service. We prioritize recalls for safety and can often accommodate same-week appointments for customers in Roswell, Alpharetta, and greater Atlanta.
Does an open recall affect my 2021 Audi RS 6's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce resale and trade-in value because buyers and dealers often verify open campaigns before purchase. Having recalls resolved at a certified dealer like Audi North Atlanta protects value and provides documented OEM service history that buyers and lenders prefer. If you’re preparing to sell or trade, visit our trade-in page to get an appraisal after we clear any open recalls: value my trade.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2021 Audi RS 6 recall?
State inspection rules vary, but safety-related recall issues (for example, an air bag or suspension defect) can affect inspection outcomes or insurance claims, so address recalls promptly. NHTSA-listed safety recalls should be corrected at an authorized dealer to prevent potential inspection or insurance complications; Audi North Atlanta can help you schedule service. We offer service specials and financing to assist with any required non-recall repairs; see our service specials for current offers.
